ALR019 – Target, Trannies, and Unicorns

We are winging it this week on Armed Lutheran Radio. All our plans fell apart. Aaron Israel is in Louisville for the NRA Annual Meetings, Pastor John Bennett is taking care of some family matters, and Sgt. Bill and I are left holding down the fort. Sarge has tips for shooting faster in this week's Ballistic Minute. We talk about the Target stores controversy, and a story by Kevin Williamson at National Review about why criminals are so darn difficult to stop, especially when our politicians insist on policies that target the law abiding, and not the criminals.

Ballistic Minute with Sergeant Bill
Sergeant Bill brings us tips for shooting faster. He explains simple drills you can do on the range and in dry fire that will help you learn to track your sights and improve your shooting speed. Press out drills, 6-reload-6 drills are explained and he talks about the importance of keeping your gun high as you move through a stage in transitions and reloads.

#NeverTarget
We review the hysteria surrounding the passage of HB2 in North Carolina. Target stores, hypocritical liberals and the liberal media support open bathrooms where the gender confused can drop trou wherever they like, based on which gender they claim they “identify” as. Libs call the new law discriminatory, but ignore the real threat to women and children posed by male predators who will falsely claim to be LGBTQ in order to gain access to women's changing rooms and bathrooms. At the same time, Target is suing a Pittsburgh man who chased a knife wielding criminal into one of their stores and ultimately saved a girl whom the man used as a human shield.

Shredding a “Epic” Rant by a Liberal Mom
We dissect and destroy a foul-mouthed liberal mom's rant against “Bathroom Banners.” Apparently allowing full grown penises into the ladies room with her six-year-old daughter is no big deal to this lady because men are monsters who will end up violently raping her daughter before she's 35. The rant, praised by liberals (including a lesbian school administrator on Facebook), is filled with bogus liberal complaints about our “patriarchal society,” the objectification of women, and gender pay gaps. She's worried about making a warrior out of our her daughter to protect her from men, but she's too naive to recognize the dangers of allowing anyone who claims to be a woman into the ladies room with her six-year-old.

Criminals are Unicorns
Kevin Williamson at National Review writes about how the criminals who commit violent crimes are a tiny subset of the criminal population. He cites the work of criminologist Marvin Wolfgang who identified that the most dangerous people in any society are men under age 25. He also identified a pattern that has profoundly influenced criminal-justice policy ever since: The overwhelming majority of serious violent crimes are committed by a tiny number of habitual offenders. Studies after Wolfgang have estimated that his “habitual offenders” constitute a tiny minority — about 2 percent — within that already small minority. The failure to find a “cure” for habitual criminals typically results in repeat offender laws like three-strikes sentencing. The problem with this approach is that it punishes after the fact and does nothing to prevent crime. Preventive measures typically take one of two forms, aggressive interdiction policies like stop-and-frisk, or gun control. The reaction of liberals to these two types of proposals, Williamson says, shows how unserious they are about actually stopping crime.

Prayer of the Week
Almighty and everlasting God, who has given to us, Your servants, grace, by the confession of a truth faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity and in the power of the Divine Majesty to worship the Unity, we implore You that You would keep us steadfast in this faith and evermore defend us from all adversities; who lives and reigns, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
