ALR375 – The Failure of Doctrinal Review

In this week's episode Lloyd discusses an article by TR Holvorson who debunks the idea that your right to self-defense somehow comes from human reason and Enlightenment philosophy.

Editor's Note: as long-time listener Andrew rightly points out, I mistakenly conflated the author of the article on the Fifth Commandment (Joel Bierman) another author, Steven Paulson. Paulson is a heretical writer from the ELCA, and thus his inclusion in the Annotated Large Catechism is still unconscionable, IMHO. Bierman, the author of the article that I discussed in this episode (while totally wrong on self-defense and lethal force) is not a heretic. My thanks to those who kindly pointed out my mistake.

Prayer of the Week

O Lord, we implore You, let Your continual pity cleanse and defend Your Church, and because she cannot continue in safety without Your help, preserve her evermore by Your help and goodness; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
