Clinging to God and Guns
Pastor Bennett was unable to be with us this week, so Lloyd is tackling this week’s article on his own. In a piece for the Religion News Service, freelance journalist Tom Verde tries to suggest that carrying guns in church is supported by neither Scripture nor church tradition. He provides a series of bad historical examples, misinterprets or takes out of context a number of passages of Scripture, and ultimately fails to prove the point.
Prayer of the Week
Almighty and everlasting God, Governor of all things in heaven and earth, mercifully hear the supplications of Your people and grant us Your peace in our time; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Our Closing Theme A rockin' rendition of A Mighty Fortress is Our God, performed just for Armed Lutheran Radio by Kenny Gates.
