ALR Episode 145 – Our Culture of Death

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin says we live in a culture that celebrates death and that contributes to mass shootings. The media laughed him off and missed his larger point. Lloyd discusses the culture we live in and changes we could make to deter or prevent mass shootings and ideas where…

ALR Episode 16 – Children Killing Children

In this week’s episode Sergeant Bill talks about how and why you should get started shooting IDPA, we try to put the best construction on the most bizarre article from the Huffington Post which suggests that you have a right to own guns, but not a right to use them…

Promoting Life

As the President explained his rationale for yet another executive order on gun control, he evoked the old “if it saves just one life” canard. The problem is, it won’t even do that.

The Great Commandment and Gun Violence

I started this piece after the Umpqua Community College shooting, but never finished. The recent shootings in Colorado Springs and San Bernardino, and the unhinged, hateful response by the Left toward gun owners and people of faith inspired me to finish.

Law Abiding Gun Owners…Until We Are Not

The standard solution proposed by gun control advocates to mass shootings, like the recent shooting in Oregon, is to call for expanded background checks. When we point out that this idea would only infringe on the rights of law abiding gun owners, the response from liberals is puzzling.

The Way Back to the Narrow Gate

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” — Matthew…

Lies and Intellectual Laziness

The latest fund-raising scare tactic from Gabby and the Astronaut at Americans for Irresponsible Stupidity is a chart claiming that for the first time ever, in 2015, gun deaths among young people will eclipse motor vehicle deaths. Sounds horrible, right? Lots of fools on the group’s Facebook page are going…

Ben Carson and the Second Amendment

Dr. Carson has recently thrown his hat into the ring for the 2016 presidential election, after months of speculation about his intentions. Seeking to solidify his bona fides with gun rights supporters, he clarified his position on Facebook this week. The responses were predictable.

An Open Letter to President Obama

The causes of violent crime are bigger than guns, or media, or games, or mental health. I was encouraged to read that the President recognizes that the causes are many and complex. I hope he meant it, and that it wasn’t just a cover for a panel discussion on gun control. Many Americans, myself included, are rightly skeptical. I present here an open letter to President Obama, with an idea to do something NOW, to stop future school shootings.

It’s Not About Guns, It’s About Control

So, given the fact that none of these gun control measures would have had an effect on the gun violence we have seen in the last few years, where does that leave us? Well, if the only solution you can think of is to pass more laws, the only one that will work is an outright ban and confiscation of all civilian firearms. Our enemies in the anti-gun media and anti-gun politicians, the effete liberals who fear guns because they think gun culture means violence and mayhem, are not stupid. They really don’t care about saving lives. It’s really about control, not guns. So the end game is a total ban.
